50 things I’m thankful for…

1) My health

2) My family – a beautiful wife, amazingly fun and smart sons and super supportive brothers, sister and parents

3) Living in one of the most beautiful regions in the world – sometimes I drive around and feel like I’m on a permanent vacation

4) Amazing collection of friends – many of whom feel like like family

5) Friendships that have now spanned more than 35 years!

6) The opportunity to watch Renee give birth to my sons

7) Having a great business partner – he’s smart, successful and supportive

8) Having the flexibility through my work to be actively involved in the twins’ growth and development

9) Our Au Pair Hany (who is so patient and loving with the boys – even when they may not always deserve it)

10) An amazing childhood that was full of fun, friends and fun – and parents who allowed me to pursue any interest and chase any dream

11 My college education (University of Oregon and University of San Francisco)

12) My bike tour of Europe in 1992 – and Europe in general

13) All of my travels

14) Technology that allows me to more easily stay in touch and share my life with friends and family and communicate around the world

15) The San Juan Islands

16) The Greek Islands

17) My passion for sports

18) Having the opportunity to pursue (and accomplish) major athletic goals such as marathons and triathlons

19) Ice Cream

20) Coffee

21) Beer (not always in that order)

22) The continued good health of my parents, siblings and other family members

23) Art

24) Laughter

25) Games

26) Snow (even with the hassles it brings to Seattle)

27) Relationships

28) The ability to work from home (even though at times I want to escape)

32) Parks (city, state and national)

33) Airplanes

34) Washington State Ferries

35) Teachers who care for their students

36) Public safety employees – Police, Fire and others

37) Servicemen and women who volunteer for our armed forces to keep the US and our allies safe

38) Those fighting to vastly lower the military budget – to reduce our deficit and put more into our decaying infrastructure

39) Those concerned about our climate and environment – I’m hopeful we can reverse recent trends and not make the world even worse for our children and grandchildren

40) Autism advocates, educators and therapists – helping our children cope with and overcome this challenging condition

41) The Catch (49ers fans know)

42) The Double (Mariners fans know)

43) The Pick (Ducks fans know)

44) Pizza
